SEWA’s founder, Ela Bhatt strongly believed that “Access to clean and healthy environment is a fundamental right.. not just for humanity but all life on earth”

Walking on her this belief, SEWA has launched the Building Cleaner Skies Campaign in 2022 that focuses on creating awareness and education on climate change and its impact as well as bringing voice and visibility to women-led climate action.

We’re honoured to share the success of this campaign in bringing visibility to our members and their climate action –  through selection of SEWA as a finalist for the “Empowering Voices to Shape Action” category of GAEA Awards 2025

The GAEA Awards, promoted by the World Economic Forum recognize the innovative collaborations leading the way on systems change, beyond traditional celebrations of individual efforts. With a belief that Individual efforts cannot meet the scale of the climate and nature crises, World Economic Forum, through these award helps accelerate and scale successful collaborations in climate and nature by building a cross-sector community tailored to supporting our awardees.

The Awards celebrate transformative collaboratives between philanthropy, public institutions and businesses that are accelerating action for people and planet. SEWA congratulates all the fellow finalists!!
