Livelihood Security Fund Lessons Learnt

As stated in the proposal, SEWA has launched the economic rehabilitation programme, with the aim of providing long term "Livelihood Security" to the families, in the disaster prone districts. This will lead to reduction in their vulnerability with assured work and income security. It will also lead to regional development, with full participation and involvement of the communities themselves.

Therefore, SEWA plans, to convert the revolving fund – ploughed back at the end of the year, into a Long term "Livelihood Security Fund" which will be used for ongoing economic activities by the local village groups and their district Associations.

SEWA has also set up a "Livelihood Security Task Force" to facilitate building up, guide and monitor the utilization of the fund.
