Minimum Wages Campaign

units for one wage earner (Family of 2 adults + 2 children.

requirement, 2,700 calories per adult.

expenses, education of children old age and ceremonials.

In
1998, we held small meetings among our members to discuss strategies
for actual implementation of minimum wages. We also began a
dialogue with our own account, self-employed members, to work
out how their issues could be woven into the campaign.
In 1999, we organised
for minimum wages for home-based workers including agarbatti
workers and for construction workers, in particular.
